Business challenges:

As Tost grew, they needed to create a system of distribution and order fulfillment that would scale with them, while maintaining on-time and in full deliveries.

Due to each customer's different requirements and formats, Tost was doing triple data entry. One team member entered orders into a spreadsheet, and a team of two people offshore entered data into the ERP before it could be fulfilled and invoiced. 

They knew with their rapid growth, this system would not scale with them.

Solution

Tost began to evaluate their options. They could continue with the manual labor of spreadsheets, use a legacy EDI system, or embrace new technology such as Pantry AI.  

Tost knew 
The manual data entry process can lead to shipping errors and longer fulfillment times, and scaling would move linearly with headcount. 
EDI systems could have multi-month customer setup times, customer-by-customer setup, and fees for every customer. This meant a full solution could be very expensive. 

They chose Pantry because it could solve order processing across all of wholesale. Pantry’s AI can be configured once, and it will work across existing and new customers. Entering orders from any customer into the ERP (Cin7).  

Outcome

This has been saving 15-20 minutes per order by eliminating the need for the offshore team to enter data and saving teammates time entering data into the order tracker spreadsheet. 

As Tost scales, they keep the same headcount while focusing on deepening relationships and processing more orders.
